Daniel Hass

Having studied with some of the world's most renowned pedagogues, including Joel Krosnick, Timothy Eddy, Ron Leonard, and Paul Katz, I am deeply passionate about passing on the wealth of knowledge I have been fortunate to receive.

I believe in technique as freedom. Mastering the fundamentals is what allows us to discover and build a unique musical voice from the ground up. I also emphasize "working smart" by identifying the most effective, targeted exercises and approaches so that my students can develop excellence efficiently, intentionally, and without physical strain.

Whether you are preparing for conservatory auditions, building a rock-solid technical foundation, or wanting to explore improvisation and composition on the cello, I tailor my instruction to your specific musical goals. Drawing on my background as a soloist, chamber musician, and boundary-defying improviser, my teaching centers on cultivating a relaxed, mindful technique to help you unlock your individual artistic voice.
